We moved here from the Renton area in June of 2007.  We had looked here in Rosewood for about fifteen years, but were still working and decided to wait until retirement.  We fell in love with Ellensburg over the years that we camped up in the Manastash Canyon. We spent almost as much time in Ellensburg as we did in Renton, so it just seemed natural to us to make the move to Ellensburg.  Of course, after working for so many years, it did not take long for me to get bored and look for a part time job.  I found a perfect fit driving a Para Transit bus for a non-profit here in Ellensburg.  Part time still leaves me time for all the activities at Rosewood and the many, many more around town.  Ellensburg and Rosewood are full of very friendly people.  We have met so very many nice people since we have lived here in town.  Rosewood is located so close to almost all medical and shopping facilities that you can get just about anywhere in about five minutes.  We have friends and relatives in Renton that can't believe we could just up-root after sixty plus years, but it feels so right for us.

Rosewood is not only a place, it's a lifestyle.  During the seven years I have lived here, it has not been unusual to hear a resident say, "I love living in Rosewood."  Well so do I and for so many reasons.  First of all, this is a community of retired people who bring together many various backgrounds and interests.  In spite of the diversity, however, we enjoy our social activities together and the valuable friendships we have made.  The location is unbeatable.  We are very close to shopping and a hospital and medical facilities, and, of course, Central Washington University.  Rosewood is also a perfect location for taking a walk or riding a bicycle where there is little or no traffic.  The well-maintained yards and beautiful flowers are a constant pleasure.  I feel a certain safety here surrounded by my wonderful friends and neighbors!
